ABOUT KEVIN
Kevin is a seasoned veteran of the Information Technology field, bringing more than 35 years of experience to any project or company. As CEO of EGenius Group, LLC, Kevin sets the strategy and direction for potential markets, product lines, services differentiation and partnerships. Perhaps just as importantly, Kevin models and sets the company culture by establishing a professional atmosphere and promoting excellence in customer service and solution delivery.
Kevin has grown in IT as IT has grown in the world. He started his career in IT while still a teen, developing programs in FORTRAN, PASCAL and COBOL. He attended the University of Tennessee and East Tennessee State University but academic life was unfulfilling at such a young age. He entered the US Army and served in Army Intelligence while stationed in New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Hawaii before being Honorably Discharged. Kevin achieved his Bachelors Degree in Computer Science while in uniform.
Upon his return to civilian life, Kevin re-entered the Information Technology field and worked for companies such as Raytheon and Texas Instruments before striking out in his first business venture providing in-home computer service and training. After a return to East Tennessee State University, Kevin became a Sales Manager for Radio Shack in Pittsburgh, PA where he was able to achieve triple-digit growth in sales revenue before returning to IT.
In the last 20 years, Kevin has been a college instructor in computer technology, a corporate trainer, a systems administrator, network engineer, database administrator and business analyst. Before coming to EGenius, Kevin worked for Rackspace USA as Senior Solutions Architect for their SharePoint Professional Services division. There he continued his work in helping people and companies be better - more effective, efficient and profitable by utilizing technology to help them learn better ways to communicate and manage employees and information. This involved designing Enterprise-level IT solutions, gathering requirements, developing project plans, producing documentation and managing teams of specialists to deliver on time and on budget.
Kevin's left EGenius to work for Waddell & Reed as a Senior Cloud Engineer and M365 SME. He led their projects to modernize their infrastructure and move critical systems to the Microsoft M365 & Azure cloud. He performed technical oversight for vendor implementations of O365 & Azure configurations as well as primary on project critical path tasks involving Azure Active Directory, Azure AD Connect, Exchange 2013 to Exchange Online, Security Policies, Data Loss Prevention Policy (DLP), Sensitive Information Labels, Records Retention policy, Intune, Office 365, Endpoint Management, Teams, Licensing, Compliance policies, Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), eDiscovery, Company Branding, Identity Governance, Flow, Power Apps, Stream, Yammer, Event Hub, Reporting, & Auditing. I trained the internal IT staff on usage of the admin centers & developed policies for cybersecurity and internal processes & procedures updating.
